Rarko, Nangarparkar, Sindh-
Hindu minor sisters Neelan Jojo Kolhi (16) and Marwan Kolhi (14) were found dead, hanging from a tree, near their home in Rarko, Sindh. Their suicides underline the grim realities of abject poverty, hunger and the total absence of governmental support for minority communities in Islamic Pakistan. The Hindu minority, especially in regions like Sindh, faces severe socio-economic challenges, religious discrimination and social marginalization.

Hindu families often live on the fringes of society, deprived of basic rights like education, employment, and social dignity. Systemic discrimination, deeply rooted in Islamic prejudice, bars them from accessing opportunities, leaving many trapped in cycles of deprivation. For young Hindu girls like Neelan and Marwan, the dangers of abduction, rape, sexual exploitation and forced conversion exacerbate their vulnerability, making life even more precarious.

Such incidents reflect a broader pattern of neglect and intolerance in Islamic Pakistan, where minorities are denied basic equality and dignity.

Disclaimer: Due to state restrictions in Pakistan, independent follow-ups on such incidents are challenging.
