Pakistan: Hindu young girl abducted and forcibly converted to Islam.

Mirpur Sakro/ Samaro, Sindh-
A young Hindu girl named Arzoo Ashok was abducted from Mirpur Sakro by Islamists, taken to Samaro and coercively converted to Islam by Pir Ayub Jan Sarhandi, who is notoriously known for converting thousands of Hindus to Islam. Her case highlights the increasing vulnerability of Hindu and other religious minority women in Islamic Pakistan, who face systematic targeting through abductions, forced conversions and forced nikah. Such incidents tear apart families and shatter lives, leaving victims with no justice or recourse.

Rapes, abductions, forced conversions, forced nikah with sexual exploitation and sexual harassment of religious minority women are alarmingly prevalent in Pakistan, with perpetrators exploiting religious and societal biases. Victims, regardless of their age, are forcibly married off, while their families face threats, violence, or ostracization for seeking justice. These heinous acts are backed by powerful individuals, leaving minority communities in constant fear.

The plight of minority women underscores the systemic failures of Pakistan’s state apparatus. Pakistani police and judicial system often neglect or even side with the perpetrators, perpetuating a culture of impunity.

Disclaimer: Due to state restrictions in Pakistan, independent follow-ups on such incidents are challenging.
