Hindu gods fail. Hindu woman begs Jabbar Khan to accept her. She recites Kalma, accept Islam and becomes worthy of Jabbar Khan’s love.
Pakistan: Scene from a Pakistani movie portraying a Hindu bindi-clad woman converting to Islam by reciting Kalma and winning over the heart of love-of-her-life, Jabbar Khan
Hindu woman begs her Muslim lover Jabbar to accept her. He refuses, demanding her to convert to Islam if she wants his love. In the next moment, she recites the Kalma, declaring that her love is above her religion. Jabbar accepts her and she displays a weird-frenzied dance to express her happiness.
Pakistani cinema has always perpetuated Hindu-hatred by consistently portraying Hindu men as cruel, dark-complexioned Baniyas with grotesque mannerisms, consumed by hatred for Muslims. Simultaneously, Hindu women are depicted as scantily clad, morally loose and disloyal to their faith, often opposing their fathers’ supposed Muslim hatred. These women are contrasted with Muslim women, shown as modest, devout, and dignified, firmly rooted in their Islamic beliefs.
The narrative systematically dehumanizes Hindus while romanticizing Hindu women’s conversion to Islam as the only path to redemption and acceptance by Muslim men. This propaganda reinforces stereotypes, demeaning and insulting Hindus and their culture, while pushing the agenda of Islamic supremacy and eventual conversion to Islam.
