“Pakistan idolizes its invaders but hates sons of the soil as they were Hindus.”
Pakistani journalist reveals Pakistani psyche of idolizing Islamic invaders and hating Pakistani Hindu freedom fighters and social workers
“Pakistan idolizes its invaders, who plundered and looted the land but forgets the sons of the soil like Bhagat Singh and Sir Gangaram, because they don’t share the same ideology (religion)”- Syed Muzammil, Pakistani journalist.
Pakistan’s historical narrative glorifies foreign invaders like Mahmud of Ghazni and Muhammad bin Qasim while ignoring native figures like Bhagat Singh and Sir Ganga Ram, who significantly contributed to the region’s development. Bhagat Singh, a revolutionary freedom fighter, and Sir Ganga Ram, the architect of modern Lahore, are sidelined because of their Hindu and Sikh identities, reflecting how ideology overshadows contributions to society.
The education system in Pakistan promotes a faith-driven ideology, excluding the contributions of Hindus and Sikhs who shaped its cities and infrastructure. This bias deprives students of understanding their shared heritage and the region’s pluralistic history, fostering ignorance and prejudice.
This disregard perpetuates prejudice against Hindu contributors and undervalues their legacies. By sidelining these historical icons, Pakistan not only distorts its history but also fails to instill pride in its diverse heritage.
