Pakistan: “I will destroy Somnath like Mahmud Ghaznavi!”- Politician S M Qureshi’s statement in a public rally.
S M Qureshi, by his statement, taunts the Hindus of Pakistan and India on the invasions of Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi- how he attacked, plundered and demolished the revered Somnath temple, not once or twice, but 17 times. Breaking of idols is considered the holiest of deeds in Islam as Prophet himself had broken the pagan idols in and around Kaaba. Since then, every Muslim around the world and especially in Pakistan dreams of breaking all idols of Hindus, since Hindus are the biggest idolators.
The statement also reminds the Hindus of Ghazwa-e-Hind – the bloody conquest of Hindus by Islamic forces, a Hadith in their holy books that says Hindus will be defeated, enslaved, killed or converted to Islam in final and decisive war.
The Pakistani over-all psyche vis-à-vis Hindus can be explained by the fact that the Islamic nation doesn’t hate India but vehemently hates Hindus. After all, it is the ultimate goal of every Pakistani to conquer India through Ghazwa-e-Hind, so why hate a piece of land which can be cut into 1000 pieces, its temples and idols destroyed and the spoils be enjoyed by all Muslims?
