Pakistan: Hindu temple converted into public toilet

In a deeply distressing incident, the 1,000-year-old Basuli Hanuman Temple, also known as the Bansi Temple, has been converted into a public toilet. Six toilets have been constructed within the sacred premises, desecrating its sanctity and showing utter disrespect for Hindu religious sentiments. This act is a blatant insult to a place, revered by Hindus.

Such incidents reflect systemic discrimination and a troubling pattern of neglect and contempt for the religious sites of minorities in Islamic nation of Pakistan. Instead of preserving these historical and spiritual landmarks, their destruction is often overlooked, with authorities turning a blind eye.

The conversion of a revered Hindu temple into toilets highlights the lack of basic human rights for minorities. It underscores the urgent need for justice, protection of fundamental religious freedom for religious minorities in Islamic Pakistan.
